Editor's Comments: - Founded in 1971 by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the Vedic sage who has introduced to the world the most ancient continuous tradition of knowledge, the Vedic tradition of enlightenment. All students and faculty practice a simple, natural procedure — the Transcendental Meditation® technique. Extensive published research has found that this technique optimizes brain functioning, dissolves stress, and improves learning ability. The daily experience of transcendental consciousness strengthens the brain circuits that integrate expanded awareness with the ability to focus sharply. This is called total brain functioning. The education is consciousness-Based education. In the Upanishads, a renowned line says, “Know that by which everything else is known” — referring to the field of pure consciousness, your innermost Self. Instead of receiving only fragmented education, you gain total knowledge — knowledge of how to manage everything in life by managing your own Self.

Typical Day at MUM: Trancedental meditation including Yoga in the morning and evening (30 minutes each) takes place in two big domes for maximum coherence to gain the full support of nature. A common dining area called Annapurna where all students get healthy vegetarian food, A small class size of an average of 30 students. Students can also learn Vedas.
